Yoga & Meditation Retreat in Tuscany

Set in the heart of the Tuscan maremma – 19th- 26th June 2016 with Ladan Soltani


Join me for a transformational week of yoga, meditation, breathing & relaxation!

The retreat will take place on this beautiful organic farm, cradled between the medieval hilltop towns of Montelaterone and Monticello Amiata. Surrounded by woodlands, vineyards, olive groves and mountain streams. It is a private haven ideally suited for creative exploration and connection with nature. The farm boasts spectacular views and untouched landscapes which imparts a real sense of freedom.

The food served will be delicious, vegetarian, Italian cuisine, which is organically farmed and made from fresh local produce. Fresh water directly from the springs is always available to drink. You also have the option to venture out on additional excursions such as wine tasting, visiting thermal baths, medieval towns, sculpture garden or taking long walks in the lovely countryside. I’m also offering 1-1 yoga or you can book a massage with our amazing therapist at an additional cost. Alternatively, you can make your holiday as blissful as you like and relax by the swimming pool.



My retreats attract every level of practitioner. I always have a mixture of people attending. I can cater for beginners to advanced. The style of yoga varies too as I’ve trained in quite a few disciplines, such as Sivananda ( hatha style ) and ashtanga. I really work with the feel of the group and meet the needs and requirements of my class participants in that moment, adapting with modifications or more challenging versions of the postures for those who want the option.

There will be morning yoga classes and evening guided mindfulness meditation, pranayama ( ancient yogic breathing techniques ) and relaxation sessions ( yoga nidra ) except on arrival and departure days (19th & 26th ). We will be practicing yoga in the peaceful yoga barn. You can choose whether you wish to participate in all the sessions. The venue does have some spare yoga mats, however I recommend to bring your own if you have one.

The retreat is open to welcome all levels of practitioners

Typical schedule

8.30-10.30am – Yoga
10.30am – Breakfast ( homemade yogurt, honey & cake, cereal, bread, rice/soya milk )
11.30am – Free time (relax, explore, 1-1 yoga or massage)
5.30-7pm – Meditation, breathing & relaxation
7.30pm – Dinner ( 3 course dinner )

We also arrange an optional day trip to Siena mid week ( Wednesday ) and only do the morning yoga session that day.

As the venue is idyllic and tucked away in the Tuscan hills, I advise bringing a warm jumper or coat for the evenings.

The rooms are rustic and full of boutique style character with spectacular views. Most rooms will have an en-suite bathroom, unless you’re staying in the dormitory or yurt, where bathrooms will be shared. The venue has WIFI access. Check in is 4pm on the 19th and check out is 10am on the 26th. If you arrive early or leave late, you’re welcome to relax by the pool.

Airports: Pisa and Rome.
Train Connections: Civitella Paganico or Grosseto. I can organise a transfer to pick you up from any of these train stations to the venue.
Buses: Although there are a few buses connecting the local towns to the larger centres, it is highly recommended that you have your own vehicle, especially as there are so much stunning places to visit in Tuscany. There will be plenty of time to explore in between the yoga sessions.
Rental cars: Rental cars are best picked up either at the airport or in the bigger cities. The venue has free parking.
Transfers: We can arrange private car transfers from airports, train stations and cities.
Transfers cost on average 70-80 euros per person based on minimum 3 sharing from the airports.
Please email me for a more bespoke price list and if you give me your flight times of your arrivals, I can arrange for you to meet at the airport to share a transfer.

£625 dormitory – If you would like to economise and share a dormitory which has 2 bathrooms ( max 6 people )
£750 based on 2 or more sharing ( if it’s more than 2 sharing a room, it will be a large space or even your own apartment )
£875 single room ( share bathroom with one other person )
£1000 single room with en-suite

This includes all yoga & meditation tuition. Breakfast and 3 course dinner (excluding wine), including 7 nights accommodation.
This excludes flights, transfers and any extra’s such as 1-1 sessions, massage or day trips/excursions.
I will organise single travellers who wish to share a room.
It is your responsibility to have an up to date fully comprehensive travel insurance.

If you wish to pay in instalments, please let me know and I can make arrangements. Bookings made after 28th April should be paid in full at the time of booking.

Please note any cancellations made 1 month before the starting date is transferrable (excluding the deposit). The full amount is non-refundable if its any less than a month.

A wonderful escape from all at this beautiful retreat in Tuscany. As a novice yogi I was a little intimidated at the thought of going on a weeks yoga retreat and leaving behind my family for the first time in years to do something just for me. With yoga every morning and meditation every evening I was nervous as I was only a once a week yogi but any fears were quickly calmed on arrival as everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The venue couldn’t have been more perfect in idyllic Tuscan countryside with wonderful fresh homemade Italian vegetarian food every evening washed down with red wine grown on the estate. The hosts entertained us as though we were family members. A wonderful place to unwind and gather your thoughts whilst challenging your body and your mind to stretch and release any tension from your working and daily life. Ladan is one of the best yoga teachers I have personally come across, spiritual yet grounded and encouraging at all levels whether beginner or experienced yogi to fulfil and exceed your own expectations. A fabulous experience all round and I’ve made some great friends along the way.
